Hello, I am a recent graduate of Lawrence Technological University's College of Architecture and Design. I graduated with honors on the Dean's List from the Architecture and Interior Architecture dual degree program. In addition to progressing my academic knowledge in school, I grew as a leader as I took the Presidency role at LTU's International Interior Design Association campus center. During my presidency, I worked hard to increase our campus recognition and involvement by tripling the number of student members.
I utilized my education and leadership role as a springboard to start my career in the architecture industry. I am currently working on the 42 North - Architecture + Design team in Grand Rapids, MI. In my role as an Architectural Associate, I have discovered my passion for residential architecture. I genuinely love having the opportunity to bring the client's visions to life and design a home for them and their families to enjoy for years to come.
As an aspiring architect and designer, I am pursuing licensure and earning my Master's of Architecture degree. I can't wait to see what the future holds for me and I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason!
Throughout my courses, at Lawrence Tech. I had the opportunity to participate in several drafting courses both “by hand” and “by mouse” strategies. I have had experience with the paper medium as well as digital medium via AutoCAD, Revit, and Vectorworks.
I have had practice with creating and assembling sets of construction drawings through my construction systems courses at LTU. Those courses rendered themselves extremely valuable as I transitioned into an Architectural Associate role and further developed my skills.
In true LTU fashion, I have created several 3-dimensional models using some of the most dynamic 3D modeling software. While some of my larger-scale 3D models permanently live in the digital world some have manifested into physical form via 3D printing.
Businesses must adapt and embrace technology and utilize new mediums for advertisement. Social media is a key way that society receives its information, which is why I use social media in my profession to not only showcase beautiful products but also to establish brand identity and build a relationship with current and prospective clients.
May 2020 - June 2021 (Exp.)
In early May I will be transitioning from being an undergrad to graduate student. I am thrilled to begin the next chapter in my academic career and further refine my skills and knowledge to be an asset to any team!
August 2015 - May 2020
While pursuing my architecture degree I have learned so much! LTU has allowed me to develop my architectural knowledge through thorough and stimulating theory courses and intense hands-on studios complete with real clients.
August 2015 - May 2020
I selected Lawrence Tech. for my academic career because of its highly regarded reputation and for its CIDA accredited Interior Architecture program. I chose to add the interiors dual degree because we as a society spend more than 90% of our time indoors, thus the user experiences architecture predominantly from the inside.
May 2018 - Present
I have the distinct honor of working in a company where I can play an active role in designing our client’s dream home! I am an Architectural Associate with 42 North Architects in Grand Rapids, MI. My role gives me the opportunity to experience client meetings, execute a purposeful design direction, and create construction documents with 3D BIM modeling.
May 2016 - Present
During my academic career at Lawrence Tech. I continue to be employed through the university. In addition to being a full-time student and managing social media accounts for a local architecture firm, I am currently working as a student assistant at the College of Business and IT as well as University Housing. I have also had the privilege of assisting my architecture and graphic design professor with research.
August 2015 - August 2017
During the summers of my early college career, I would return home and help our city’s local architect with projects around the town. At Oppenhuizen Architects is where I first got my exposure to site visits, client meetings, and CAD drafting.
Below is a collection of some of my favorite projects I have either completed or have been pleased to have had an active involvement with. These projects are a collection of professional, scholarly, and personal work.
Below is documentation from my studio classes at Lawrence Tech. These in-depth individual portfolios represent what course material was taught mixed my own personal flare. I have either created these portfolios as an individual or as a team member.
